The Prescription Assistance Program helps individuals between the ages of 19 and 64, without prescription drug coverage, receive help in completing the application process required to obtain prescription drugs through pharmaceutical companies.
There are approximately 400 pharmaceutical companies that offer free or reduced medications, but the application processes are complex and vary across companies.
Center For Community Action provides assistance through trained case managers that can help individuals through the application process. Clients will also be advised to contact their health care providers regarding multiple medications and prescriptions. This program is targeted toward individuals with chronic health problems but is available for anyone with difficulty paying for prescription medications that does not have prescription insurance.
The Prescription Assistance Program was started through a grant from Community Foundation for the Alleghenies.
