The State Food Purchase Program (SFPP) provides funds for the purchase, transportation, storage and distribution of food to needy individuals who qualify as program participants.
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) provides the distribution of commodities to needy individuals who qualify as program participants. SFPP and TEFAP supplements the efforts of the four food pantries to reduce hunger in Huntingdon County.
The State Food Purchase Program and the Emergency Food Assistance Program are funded by a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Bedford County Food Banks
Attention citizens of Bedford County. The six Food Pantries and the Bedford Outreach in Bedford County will be distributing food on every third Friday of the month. They open at 9 a.m., so please come early. If you haven’t signed up since July 2017, you will need to bring a piece of mail with your name and mailing address along with a photo ID. The Pantries are arranged by school district.
